Cat Games for Cats (https://cat-game-for-cats.com) is run by Henri Rujala, Finland. Contact: hello@cat-game-for-cats.com. We collect as little as possible.
Playing without an account
Anyone can play without signing in. To limit free play to a few sessions a day, we count free sessions per day using a random ID stored in your browser and a one-way hash of your IP address (the address itself is never stored); these counts are deleted after a few days, and the first-visit date after 30 days. When a session ends, the game sends anonymous play statistics: which game, how long, how many paw taps, hits and catches, the settings used, the type of device (tablet, phone or computer) and a random ID stored in your browser. These contain no name, email or IP address and help us improve the games. Your settings and that random ID stay in your browser's local storage.
When you sign in with Google
To buy games you sign in with Google. We receive your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture, and store them with the games you bought, so your purchases work on every device. Signing in sets one cookie (sid) that keeps you signed in; it is not used for tracking.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record (it processes the sale, VAT and receipts under its own privacy policy). Your card or other payment details go directly to Stripe and never reach us. We keep a record of each purchase (what you bought, the amount, the date and Stripe's reference) to unlock your games and for accounting.
Who processes data for us
- Google Cloud (hosting, in Finland) and Google (sign-in)
- Neon (database, in Frankfurt, Germany)
- Stripe (payments)
- Google Fonts (the site's fonts are loaded from Google)
We do not sell data, show ads or use advertising or analytics trackers.
How long we keep it
Account and purchase records are kept while your account exists and as long as accounting law requires. Anonymous play statistics are kept to improve the games.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@cat-game-for-cats.com. Purchase records we must keep for accounting are retained for the legally required period. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Finland, the Data Protection Ombudsman).
